Mark began his career after graduating in Hotel and Catering Operations, and left Cardiff’s Catering College as Student of the Year.
He cut his General Management teeth with the special contracts division of a leading contract caterer in London (then Gardner Merchant), opening one of London’s first private hospitals and managing a prestige multi-service site for the London University.
Whilst completing post-graduate studies in London, Mark worked in senior hospitality recruitment, specialising in international and hotel markets.
In recent years Mark has had a successful and progressive career with Center Parcs, where his key roles include deputy resort management and management of various food and beverage divisions across the group. He has also been a key player in harmonisation and change management programmes, as well as business development. Working across four resorts in the UK, Mark’s achievements include a positive and measurable influence on multi-million pound P&L responsibilities, and successful accountability for large and diverse teams, through various changes in ownership and direction.
Mark has also managed key capital and infrastructure projects, with new openings across retail, leisure, food and beverage and accommodation divisions. This includes significant turnkey projects, valued to over £14m
Mark believes his true feel for the hospitality industry, alongside operational and strategic experiences will be of benefit to Clients. Mark is leading a regional growth plan for Portfolio (based in our prestigious offices in Manchester) across the contract, event and venue markets.
