Our client is a dynamic and innovative leisure group who currently operate 7 racecourses across the UK and are constantly evolving. Currently the Uks largest racecourse operator they host approximately 25% of UK racing fixtures. Passionate about racing and the customer experience, they are continuing to invest heavily into their venues in order to develop their racecourses into state of the art venues that operate 365 days of the year.
Job Specification
Following an extensive £34 million redevelopment which includes a new state of the art stand and exhibition hall plus excellent conference and banqueting facilities this venue is now looking to position its self amongst the UK pre-eminent racecourses. Responsible for a strong sales team and the delivery of a significant budget. The role is multi faceted encompassing racing, hospitality, event, exhibition, conference, banqueting and corporate sales. With a first class venue and product on offer it is essential that the sales culture within the team is taken to the next level. You will need to form close relationships with key clients and lead negotiations with key internal and external customers. This said the over whelming responsibility is to develop a pro-active and professional sales culture among the sales team, to mentor and develop the team members in order to achieve annual sales targets and deliver outstanding performance.
Person Specification
Preferably from a sporting, conference centre, exhibition or hotel background the ideal candidate will have a proven sales background within a high quality, high volume environment. You will be tenacious dynamic and highly accomplished in revenue and strategy management. Ideally a proven leader of people who is comfortable with managing a team of individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds. You will be a natural negotiator, mediator and deal closer with a strong managerial background and exceptional financial awareness. The ability to manage and develop the existing successful business by driving volume, profitability and standards is essential.
