Client Profile:

Working with a fast growing independent caterer who place the emphasis on food, service and fun and not on restrictive purchasing policy. This multi site event caterer requires a star in the making. The successful development chef can look forward to an exciting career path.

The business is predominately in London and Birmingham with a dynamic culture with a current turnover of £10m with rapid growth to £25m in the next three years, with a team of 35 employees. The client places a high premium on fresh food sourced locally. The food is best described as brasserie / bistro style with extensive liaison with suppliers to ensure product specification and quality. Additionally they have an outside event catering division, which there are currently in excess of 2,000 transactions per day in all areas of their business with a high level of customer satisfaction. My clients goal is to attract each and every customer when visiting an event. Whilst this is a management role a food background is essential as it will be very hands on inline with the business. Our Development Chef candidates will possibly be working for one of the larger players and be looking for an opportunity to make a real company contribution. It is essential you are able to demonstrate;

-Up to date knowledge of food styles and trends

-The ability to lead a small team, plus a bank of casual staff

-To have worked in a blue chip environment

-Looking to use purchasing flexibility to create a great menu

-Experience of successfully managing a catering budget

-Get a buzz out of delivering a fantastic customer service

Job Specification

Reporting directly to the Group Executive, based at one of the Central London sites the Head Chef will be managing and developing a team, and occasional hospitality for a quality client, the companies emphasis is on cooking with only fresh ingredients and theatre style service, coupled with valuable experience in people and financial management and excellent working knowledge of Hygiene, Health and Safety procedures.

Person Specification:

A passionate Sous chef with excellent culinary skills looking to join a professional organisation.You must have proven knowledge and able to provide first class references, with the confidence and character to manage the business and be part of a new contract team to drive the business forward. The role is predominately as required, and will involve long hours some time away inline with the needs of the business.

Remuneration:

£32k plus bonus
