Job Summary: Director of Sales & Revenue UK - Contemporary 4* premium hotel group - Up to £70,000
Client Profile
A superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Sales professional to head-up the UK Sales Team of this leading international hotel group. The group is characterised by its modern, contemporary and design-led hotels and have stunning properties in eight in key locations around the UK. The role itself is responsible for managing the UK Sales and Revenue Team, create, implement and manage the Sales & Revenue strategy for the group in the UK and really lead the team from the front and set the standard and pace for the business.
Job Specification
- To maximise profitability of the UK estate
- Achieve all budgeted targets including Revenue, GOP and RGI
- To manage all on property and national sales people, on property revenue people, including reservations and M&E
- To develop a strong working relationships with Distribution and Marketing
- To make and take decisions in the best long term interest of the business
- Directly accountable for the spending of the agreed Sales & Marketing Budget
- Effective management of all direct reports to include regular reviews and encourage, develop and support the team at all times, ensuring a degree of autonomy
- To ensure cross selling of all other properties within the group where possible
- Ensure the recording of all sales activity in OPERA is undertaken, in regard to client contact details
- To oversee the completion of the Hotel Business Plan and the S&M Plan presentation in line with the set format and deadlines
- To complete a Regional UK Sales & Revenue Plan
- Ensure that a recording of all spending of hotel S&M budget is completed and ensure all spending is in line with the agreed budgeted figure
- Attend and/or hold regular meetings with the team
- Ensure an effective review of data and reports is undertaken and corrective actions are put in place in order to rectify any budget deficits
- Ensure that the DOSs are reviewing, amending and maintaining the Merchandising, of all relevant sites, to best reflect the hotel’s product
- Focus on constant Business Development, to identify where opportunities exist to progress the performance of the hotels
- To build strong, effective and lasting internal and external relationships within the hotel, the UK Region, and Internationally
- Understand and research the Micro & Macro demand and supply patterns that effect the region’s performance
- Attend shows, exhibitions and functions that support the business where necessary
Uphold the group's brand message at all time - To work with the UK Revenue Manager to ensure that all pricing (inc retail, corporate, M&E etc) offered is in the best interest of each hotel’s performance and will maximise the hotel profitability
- Support the wider goals and mission statement of the organisation
- Undertake Marketing & PR activities in order to best support the goals of the hotel and ensure those activities are in line with the set company standards
- Achieve & exceed all budgets for the region (excluding franchise)
- Ensure rate parity exists across all distribution channels
- Performance against the companies set core competencies
Person Specification
- Candidates must have a proven track record in proactive sales to a senior and / or regional level
- A background and experience in hotel sales and / or revenue from a reputable 4* premium brand or group is highly desirable
- A thorough understanding of revenue and yield principles is preferred
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong people management skills at all levels and be able to lead a senior team competently
- Experience creating and implementing a regional sales and revenue plan is essential, as is tracking success and making commercial decisions to ensure targets are met
- Candidates should be proactive and responsible and be able to manage independently, taking ownership and using initiative
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are imperative
- Above all, the ability to set the standard for the UK Sales and Revenue Team is key.
Remuneration
Circa £70,000 + bonus + benefits
